What are cookies?

Cookies are small files that are installed in the user’s computer when they access a website. Cookies allow, inter alia, the storage and recovery of information concerning the browsing habits of a user or their computer and, depending on the information that they contain and the manner in which the computer is used, depending on the type of cookie and the information collected, they may be used to recognise the user.

Types of cookies

a)      According to the undertaking that manages the cookies:

-       Own cookies: are those that are sent to the user’s device or terminal from our computers or domain, and moreover are managed by our company, as the owners and editors of this web page.
-       Third-party cookies: are those that are sent to the user’s device or terminal from computers or domains that we do not manage ourselves, but rather are managed by a third party that will process the information collected through these cookies.

b)      According to their storage period:

-       Session cookies: are those that collect and store data when the user accesses the web page and which are eliminated once the user leaves the web page.

-       Persistent cookies: are those that have a duration in time that is determined by the controller. The storage period may vary between a few minutes to a few years. They are used to store and recover certain settings each time the user visits the web page.

c)       According to their purpose:

-       Technical cookies: are those that are essential and strictly necessary for the web page to function correctly, and so you may use the different options or services that we offer. They are usually used to measure the user’s activity with the purpose of improving the service that we offer based on the results we obtain. For example, through an analysis cookie we would control the geographic area of greatest interest to a user, what is the product or service with the greatest acceptance, etc.

-       Advertising cookies: are those that allow us to manage advertising spaces on websites.

-       Behavioural advertising cookies: are those that allow us to manage the advertising spaces of our web page. The role of these cookies is to store information on the behaviour of users within our web page, so as to then subsequently show customised advertising.
